To all Patriot Flight applicants, staff and volunteers:
I am sorry to give all of you veterans and families anticipating our next flight this sad news. After all of the work that has been done to provide a flight on October 10th of this year, this flight too has been suspended.
The national Honor Flight Network Board of Directors met on June 10th to discuss the remainder of the travel season and implications of COVID-19 on trips for the rest of 2020. It was their decision to cancel all flights by all of the more than one hundred honor flight hubs.
Patriot Flight will retain all of the applications we have received for the cancelled May and October flights and apply these requests to our next scheduled flight. We anticipate it will be in late April or early May of 2021. Since we already have more applications than we had anticipated for that flight, we will be trying to secure more seats than the usual 100 for our next trip. If we are not able to do so, we will have to use our priority system which favors WWII, Korean and Vietnam era vets.
Applications received that exceed our limit will be applied to the next Patriot Flight, which we anticipate will be scheduled for Fall 2021.
